In February 2025, 16-year-old Klara travelled with Harbingers’ Academy to Amman, Jordan, to document the situation in the Middle East. As her family has origins in the Middle East, she wanted to learn about the crisis and share her findings with Harbingers’ Magazine audience.

Klara delivered two articles and four video interviews, including conversations with children from Gaza undergoing cancer treatment in Amman, a member of the Jordanian parliament and a manager of a Jordanian digital education platform which digitalized the Palestinian curriculum for students in Gaza.

Having interviewed a Jordanian political commentator, Dr Jaber, she wrote:

“Visiting Amman, the capital of Jordan, makes one realise how wide and undisputed the support for Palestine is in Jordanian society. There are daily protests calling for the severance of diplomatic ties with Israel, and every Friday, people demonstrate to pressure their government to increase support for Palestine. Political stickers and T-shirts with slogans in support of a free Palestine are a constant sight when travelling about the city.”

The discussing the differences between Western and Arabic perspectives on the Middle East crisis was followed with an in-depth feature on the support Jordan provides to the civilian population of Gaza.

Gaza is currently unliveable. We need to rebuild a life there, but we don’t know what the next stage will be. We are afraid of what will come next. All the people of Gaza feel this way, 12-year-old Mohammed told me.
