As Harbingers’ Magazine launches its inaugural Pride Month, the Harbinger Academy extends a warm invitation to members of the LGBTQIA+ community to participate in The Harbinger Prize 2024.

This year we are proud to introduce Harbingers’ inaugural Pride Month programming! Our mission as a magazine is to amplify teen voices, and a large portion of this is by advocating for the uplifting of perspectives that can sometimes be ignored by larger society” – says Saphier.

As a part of this effort, the Harbingers’ Magazine staff will be dedicating themselves to writing pieces centred around the LGBTQIA+ community during the month of June.

While Harbingers’ is dedicated to creating space for all communities throughout the entire year, we feel that it is especially important to highlight the LGBTQIA+ community during Pride Month, and we are excited to share our new content!

'Invisible to the Ukrainian legislation' - What it means to be queer in Ukraine

By Sofiya Tkachenko

Harbingers’ Magazine is a platform dedicated to empowering the youth and advocating for social change. Through thought-provoking content, the aim is to create a space where all perspectives are valued and heard.

Some of the work our writers from all around the world have done involves reporting on historic milestones for LGBTQ+ rights in Nepal or what it means to be queer in during the war in Ukraine. For instance, our global presence has also eyes on Singapore’s LGBTQ+ laws and the fight for trans rights in the United Kingdom.

And so much more is in the making.

Additionally, we extend a warm invitation to members of the LGBTQIA+ community to participate in The Harbinger Prize 2024. This is an incredible opportunity for young creators between 15 to 17 years-olds to share their stories and be a part of a movement that drives impactful change.

Participants get a chance to showcase their work on a global platform, contribute to meaningful conversations, and join a community of like-minded teenagers committed to making a difference.

Winners will be part of the Harbingers’ Magazine project throughout the 2024/25 academic year, and the ultimate winner will be awarded the prestigious Harbinger Prize 2024, along with an exclusive reporting trip with a mentor from the OXSFJ.

To be up to date with these developments, and if you know of someone particularly talented in captivating audiences and readers, please encourage them to to submit an entry to this year’s competition. If that person is you, know that you are welcome!
