Originally from Boston, US and now based in Yerevan, Armenia, Lucy Martirosyan is a freelance multimedia journalist reporting on human rights issues across eastern Europe, the South Caucasus and Central Asia.
Previously, they worked for openDemocracy investigating the backlash against LGBTIQ and women’s rights in Europe and Eurasia. Lucy has also produced radio for ‘The World’, US public radio’s longest-running daily global news programme, and the BBC World Service in Boston.
Lucy holds a master’s degree in journalism, international human rights and humanitarian action from Sciences Po, Paris.
They speak English, French, Russian and are currently learning Armenian.
