For the fourth edition, the Harbingers’ Magazine Newsroom annual conference moves from Oxford to Los Angeles. During the 10-day workshop, students will engage in News Reporting, Opinion writing and Feature writing, combined with podcast recording and work with a video camera to provide coverage of the state of affairs from California half a year into Donald Trump’s second term in the White House.

August 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Against the backdrop of the commemoration, amid the highly volatile global politics, Harbingers’ Magazine authors will scrutinise the geopolitics, history, economics, and culture, as well as societal and environmental issues in the Asia-Pacific region.

At Harbingers’ Academy, we designed two ‘careers’ — a four-year programme for writers and a two-year programme for editors — that take you from the beginning to the Editorial Board. As teenagers are busy, our online courses were designed to require one 50-minute session a week and a similar amount of time to complete assignments.
