Tamana Jamily is an Afghan journalist and educator based in Bonn, Germany.

She has worked with BBC Monitoring, Deutsche Welle and Radio Rabea Balkhi, focusing on women’s rights and conflict reporting. She also has experience at the Bayan Media Centre (supported by ISAF) in Mazar-e-Sharif, where she translated, edited and produced content in Farsi, Pashto and English.

Tamana has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Balkh University, Afghanistan, and a master’s degree in international media studies from Bonn Rhein-Sieg University, Germany. In Afghanistan, she taught English at the Khorasan Educational Center in Sheberghan and ran her own private English-language centre.

Tamana speaks English, German, Farsi, Pashto, Hindi, Urdu and Uzbeki.
